RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key senior member of our start-up team, you will have the opportunity to work with the company's highly recognized scientific founders in establishing the strategic research roadmaps, including our internal drug discovery initiatives aimed at identifying new, medically important targets and building a portfolio of promising, proprietary new drugs that modulate those targets and fill unmet medical needs. You and your team will work with our Scientific Advisory Board in identifying, prioritizing and selecting targets, directing assay development and high-throughput screens, lead identification and optimization and pre-clinical development. You will be responsible for building a pipeline of valuable, proprietary drug compounds, demonstrating the enormous power of our technology, delivering successful results with a select number of partnerships with global pharmaceutical companies and creating a robust intellectual property estate.

REQUIREMENTS: To qualify, you should be a highly motivated and seasoned drug discovery executive with a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or a related life sciences field, at least 10-15 years of industry experience, specifically in the discovery, validation and development of novel compounds and 8+ years of managerial experience. An understanding of current regulatory requirements and trends and familiarity with bioinformatics are essential, as is strong medicinal chemistry experience, scientific creativity and a thirst for knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, energetic leader with strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to manage a lean, flexible team in a fast-paced environment.
