SBW 2009 is open to everyone, but is mainly targeting PhD students and postdocs within the areas of bioinformatics, computational biology, evolution, genomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, protein structure prediction, statistical modelling and systems biology.
SBW 2009 is organized by the Computational Life Science Cluster (CLIC), a joint effort to stimulate, organize and advance computational life science in Umeå. CLIC host researchers from several departments and centres at the Faculty of science and technology and the Faculty of medicine, Umeå University. CLIC is physically located in the Chemical Biology Center (KBC).
